Do Scorpio Men Care If They Hurt Your Feelings

Urlurch new:

Odenwaldia heidelbergensis

The Odenwaldia heidelbergensis was not a very small amphibian, this sandstone-temporal river landscapes. A immortalized in the sandstone impression of the skull length of 28 cm was found in 1961 in Waldkatzenbach in southern Odenwald (Image: Hahl) . The small village at the foot of the 626 m high Katzenbuckel volcanic relic is from the scientific fund allocation by Morales & Kamphausen in 1984 as type locality this Urlurchs and is thus reported in the scientific contributions of all the world along with the name of the amphibious ambush hunter.

A nice contribution to popular science Waldkatzenbach Riesenlurch was published in 2007 by Dr. Marco Lichtenberger, who is also in his book "dinosaur from the Odenwald" our amphibious river giants among the paleontological motion adopted. One of the international luminaries in the research field of Triassic amphibians - he earned his doctorate on the Mastodonsaurus - is Dr. Rainer R. Schoch from the National Museum of Natural History in Stuttgart. He has now published, in December 2008, a paleontological article that deals centrally with a reclassification of Odenwaldia heidelbergensis. It says "The phylogeny of Capito dinosaurs, the largest of Earth's amphibians, is still discussed controversially. As a key taxon in this debate is Odenwaldia heidelbergensis from Waldkatzenbach, which is here described as new."

The lime kilns of Dallau and Neckarburken

Technical monuments at the
Buntsandstein-Muschelkalk boundary

The two Elztal lime shaft into the districts Neckarburken and Dallau (Neckar-Odenwald-Kreis, Baden-Württemberg) were probably the first time 19th Century church. The culture technique of lime burning is of course dates back over 4000 years, dating back to the eastern Mediterranean and was introduced in our region by the Romans. Wherever buildings are not just made of wood, clay or stone walls, but from associated masonry, lime mortar was needed. Also for plastering and white of the facades, to fertilize, and for many other areas of lime was used. This limestone had to be treated in special burning plants. (see Figure 1, covered kiln system Elztal-Neckarburken, photo: Hahl)

from the mortar shell

limestone? Lime? Mortar? What is actually the difference? Limestone is a common sedimentary rock. There is - just like marble and chalk - in a method known as calcium carbonate (CaCO3) chemical compound. Larger reserves of limestone are found in the Swabian-Franconian Alb, and of course in the limestone, such as south-east bordering the Odenwald forest land. In the lime kiln is expelled from a temperature of about 800 ° C. carbon dioxide from the limestone, which calcium oxide (CaO), which means burnt lime produced. If this white powder in contact with water, forms "slaked lime", which in turn is mixed with sand is processed into lime mortar.

The Neckarburkener Dallau burning plants and the work, as in the village lime shaft from 19 Century practice, according to a simple principle (see Figure excerpt from a nature park board and subsequent image of the burning pit; shots: Hahl). The fuel used is a room with limestone and sandstone double-walled, funnel-shaped and upwardly open shaft with two to three meters in diameter. This can be filled with several layers of limestone boulders and charcoal, in recent times was also used coal or coke with a higher calorific value. From the bottom of the kiln is fired, the top can pull off the fumes. Once the deepest layers glow of limestone and coal, the fire moved within about three to four days at temperatures around 1000 ° C through all layers throughout the top. After completing the combustion process can be found to process the porous and Branntkalkbrocken.

earth creates economy

course, it is no coincidence that in the districts Elztal Dallau and Neckarburken today are related to two restored lime kilns. As so often, does this affect also the bedrock of cultural history, technology and economy. The Earth reaches far into the historical development. Elztal with its hamlets located near the transition from red sandstone to limestone. The stone border is equally applicable to the cultural and spatial differentiation in Odenwald land. It is here the establishment of lime shaft was effective.

was already mentioned that the funnel-shaped double-walled combustion shaft is: The outer ring of walls with limestone, the interior built with sandstone, which softening point is at a higher temperature stage. There were also from the new red sandstone Odenwald, when the forests were decimated by over-use yet spacious, sufficient fuelwood and charcoal supply to fire the kilns can. The land itself agriculturally used areas predominated, which provided no fuel. The limestones, however, could be obtained from the local limestone quarries.

So it is not surprising that in the geological community Grenzsaum Elztal survived two lime kilns as a technical and cultural monuments have been restored. The Romans, so once the innovation of the lime burning brought into Germany took advantage of nearly 2000 years before coming here rocks. Not far from the fort on cohort Neckarburkener district was found as 1991 the school was expanded, a fully equipped Roman lime kiln, but in the course of construction of the settlement could not be preserved.

It was a long road to restoration of two historic lime kilns in Neckarburken Dallau and that without the personal involvement of Mayor William Goetz and some enthusiastic citizens would not have been possible. In May 2010, was set up in Elztal also a lime kiln trail.

My Electric Toothbrush Smells

The Heller and his his "Basalt rosette"

Revisiting a geo-tourism attractions in Freisen ( Saarland)

Author: Michael Hahl MA, geographer

high above the Freisen roofs of the village in Saarland Landkreis St. Wendel covers the back of Heller's summit with its breathtaking view from 596 meters above sea level. Figure 1 (Record: Hahl) shows him from the hamlet of Upper Church viewed from.

In the abandoned quarry at the Heller mountain was mined for decades andesite. It is an igneous volcanic rock, which was formed in a phase of the Permian volcanism, before over 270 million years ago. Today can be the Hellerberg still detect several former lava flows, and in marginal zones amygdaloid made the local mineral collectors agate fascinating finds, in the minerals in the district and museums in Freisen Obernkirchen can be seen (Figure 2: Example of an agate discovered in the museum Upper churches, recording: Hahl) .

"beheaded" Magmenintrusion

On some places, shows platy andesite-Hellberger spin-offs, which are prominent in the predominantly compact magma rock. For this form of wealth is ultimately also an impressive semi-circular stone structure, which is about 15 feet tall emerges from a quarry wall (Figure 3, mounting: Hahl) .

The emergence of these "Basalt Rose" or "Basalt rosette", as she has been referred to colloquially, raises a puzzle: Some see it as quite the stone has become evidence of a .. advancing lava flow (see Laarman, Ursel, no date, The Gift of the Permian volcanoes In: The agate gem is created from the Idar-Oberstein extraLapis No. 19, p. 29; MINERALS ASSOCIATION Freise, 2008.. Highlights from the center of the agates. P.4) . Other experts maintain that form, however for the digestion of an upwardly dome-like intrusion, that is the remnant of a magmatic melt into it expressed itself in the already solidified volcanic rock (see SCHNEIDER, Horst, 1991, collection of geological guide. Saarland. S. 188) .

The estimation of the Geological leader I concur. A penetrating the Andesitkomplex and ultimately the erosion of "decapitated" Magmenintrusion is in the field and in the context of the volcanic lava-Hellerberg well comprehensible interpretation of the digestion (see illustration, graphic design: HAHL, Michael, 2010, the first time published) .

After that was chemically also freigenagt as andesite to be addressed intrusion, that is the underground tunnel of rock, from the millions of lasting erosive effect, formed as a result of pressure relief and weathering of surface-parallel cracks and semi-circular detachment surfaces. Unknown why there is the angle at which the intrusion may have entered through the Andesitkörper; unique flow structures were not found until now.

through a window into the Earth can marvel at the remarkable Hellerberg today andesite intrusion in cross section. - Probably today's disk-like shape was even once crowned pronounced hemispherical respectively, because of the lower part of the strange rock structure at the quarry wall is not disrupted. The characteristic skin weathering of igneous rocks is the spherical shaping not so rare. Figure 4 (source: wikipedia) shows for comparison the so-called "Stone Rose" in the Thuringian town hall castle Ebersdorf, certainly also the work of weathering, erosion are coupled to a pressure relief.

"Basalt Rose, Andesitrose" or "Freisener rock disc"?

"Basalt Rose" - that sounds good, and yet the name does not geoscientifically treatment and thus not in the sense of a high-quality geo-tourism development. That it is not basalt, but the quartz-rich andesite is generally known. Basalt assignment should come from everyday language of the popular Quarry terminology and was probably continued since in the vernacular, as in many other stone quarries "basalt-like" rocks as well - such as the hunchback in the southern Odenwald, whose "basalt rocks" to be precise as phonolite and syenite are addressing ( see AK SCHMITT, MARK MA, NESBOR HD, Markle G., 2007, The onset and origin of differentiated Rhine Graben volcanism based on U-Pb ages and oxygen isotopic composition of zircon, Eur J. Mineral., 19, pp 849-857.) .

However, the terms "rosette" and it inspired, "Rose" are geologically for a different kind, namely a "hedgehog-like, radial pillar formation in igneous rocks. Image Example 5 shows the basalt subjects on Hirtstein in Saxony Erzgebirge (Record: Steve Moeckel, source: wikipedia).

What name the stately "Basalt Rose" or "Basalt rosette" of Hellerberg (image section 6; Recording: Hahl) future they will take now is, of course, decide to be in Freisen itself. Perhaps the engaged citizenry is a fitting new name for their " Freisener rock ball " a? " andesite intrusion ?" Or " Freisener rock disc "? " Steinerner semicircle on Hellerberg " perhaps? Or rather quite traditional " Andesitrose ?

Healthest Yougurt Brand

And at the end of the road ...

is ... a man in the lake. What many members with a start into the unknown, or rather began with a Neustudie Peter Fox'scher lyrics , can in hindsight be remembered as one of the most beautiful yet rural youth trips to the Vereinsanalen. Of 06 - 08.08.2010 issue in the about 250 km away Neuental, more precisely in the self-catering lodge with the nice name Carlchen's hut ". After a gum-trip (Thanks A5) could be obtained the hut. Almost seamlessly, it was in good weather and gracious mosquitoes because the first evening with barbecue meat and drinks so as to make substantial as possible. On the second day was about 40 meters from the "little Carl's Cabin" remote lake in the center of the daily planning. The free-to-use surfboards and kayaks proved to be an interesting alternative to crawl or breast-swimming attack on the lake. After the extensive use of more or less cool wet or the cozy life in the day along with the water that day in perfect weather in a similar manner as it was already Friday, the case was allowed to fade away. Sunday began as the last day of the tour, already at very early hour (based on the average Central European Aufstehzeit one on the seventh day of the week) with the cleanup and eventually extract from the weekend home on the lake. A trip, which will certainly remain a fond memory at all. * * Betongmaschiin

Example Of Letter Of Appeal For Academic

The channel Knight "on the throne in the rain

How
since more than 20 years, was also in this year's tournament held every man in Gimmeldingen. In streaky and sometimes rainy weather could equally prove two new teams and positively to the gallery. As tournament winners were the outstanding play "channel Knight" emerges from Mainz. They triumphed in a one-Fi dimensional debutierenden also the football fans of "Freinsheim United". Also this year, fair play and the fun was at the football writ large, and so was spent on sausages and beer is a beautiful day. So now our beloved trophy goes to Mainz for a year, but next year the cards are shuffled and then the Cup may come back into our Promised Palatinate. However, this is a tough job, so could shine the "Knights FC channel" is not only good football but never saturated with a creative appetite for goals and then scoring a goal. They constitute, therefore, logically, the two safest scorers with 10 and 11 matches. On again next year!

rural youth Döner can indicate not only the Schorlebar

The Mußbacher Kerwe is over. The last Currywurst fried and mixed with wild things that last chips into Siedefett e total appears to pass the last of rural youth in the care of a kebab often easily overwhelmed the carrier and the last drops of wine were poured into a Palatine Orginalmaß 0.5l. An eventful weekend comes to an end. Especially on Friday and Saturday, Peter had a show and saw to it that the sky is dry, the score was only wet from the inside and the total of almost unparalleled good mood. Front of and behind the counter. On Friday next to the heated Currywurst especially the Band "winner" of the apparently partly in ecstasy dancing crowd. On Saturday took over the part of the groups einheizen "Take down Silence" and "Maysix" in new and well-known but no less extaseverursachender manner. Good Tripod For Dslr Camera

Vosges: Witch Rocks (rocher turenne)

We leave the Odenwald and Go about 250 km to south-southwest.

The Witch Rocks (rocher turenne) is easily accessible from a moving car park (about 1km to the north, marking yellow line, and later red triangle) to achieve, which is on the narrow forest road between Husseren-les-Châteaux and Wintzenheim (of HLC natural gem W - the next behind the "Trois Châteeaux"). Both places are near Colmar.

me this place has really touched, because before I had the feeling in Alsace holiday the spiritual, the spirit of the place I did not let himself, here I have it better: the first time felt. The

Rock is really impressive, but hard-photographed. The stones were really warm with energy. Herrrliche raspberry thickets grow in the area.
