What Is My Show Width

10 years Rural Youth Mußbach-Gimmeldingen

looks these days back our rural youth group on their 10th anniversary. This was
reason enough to
on Saturday
27th November, a small but fine
anniversary event to organize.
In subzero temperatures, they met in the barbecue hut in Mußbacher pool to celebrate the anniversary. Almost all members and some guests were present at the aforementioned schme and cold temperatures ckten of mulled wine and sausages so much better these . Nevertheless celebrated late into the evening was . A particularly nice touch were the speeches by the mayor Kerth (Mußbach) and Marggraff (Gimmeldingen) and the little speech the 1st Chairman of the Palatinate Forest Association (local group Gimmeldingen) Edelgard teaser. It makes everyone praised the great work and commitment of our rural youth in our hometowns. May it continue to go on ... !

The "stone oven" on the mountain queen ...

... and his remarkable ribs

"On the rock show is 2-3 cm thick aplite-Gängchen with quartz and Orthoklaseinsprenglingen in mikropegmatischer matrix, which were described by Schuster as well as Rhenopalite and are herausgewittert ribs."
(Schneider and JUNG 1991, Geological Guide Saarland)

This seems the genesis of the ribs on the "stone oven" (Photo: Achim later) , a rock formation south of the queen's settled in Upper Churches (Freisen, Landkreis St. Wendel) in principle: Magmatic melts or hydrothermal solutions penetrated in a well-formed by pressure relief columns.

Pressure relief could during the solidification of magmatic melts known form columns, particularly basalt columns. Most likely dicksäulige forms also occur in rhyolites, andesites and dacites. On the slopes of the mountain we see the queen "stone sea", a glacial stream block, sporadically (probably dacitic) columns (Photo: Hahl).

rhyolites, andesites and dacites, however, are often characterized by platy secretion as pillars of education. The excerpt below image (photo is from 2005 Roland Vinx, stone fixed on the ground, p. 135) a Flakiness bankige-form shows in phonolite.

Also on "The stone oven" I guess a platy secretion with subsequent filling of the columns by intrusive melts. Whether the conjecture holds, for further examination in the field. It will also be important to detect vertical structures that can prove that the course not only stayed on one level, but continued into the next higher "floor" moving to get there, turn horizontal spread.

platy secretion or columnar solidification and subsequent magmatic filling may have occurred only at a time when surrounded was the whole rock body still (estimated at many tens of meters or a few hundred meters) below the land surface, the so far not eroded Permian sedimentary rocks. Possibly followed by erosive exposure of the "Stone Cabinet. Also, a tilting of the rock

Moreover, we must assume that at least since the erosive exposure of the massif "The stone cabinet" of course, the weathering was gnawing on the rock: "ribs" and spaces have since been thus worn away already strong and been set back far be. "sliding" or similar signs which were due purely outwardly appear, it is therefore my opinion from the genetic interpretation are excluded because they have long since erosion would have fallen victim.

Since the term aplite often is restricted to granitoid plutonic rocks or Subvulkanite finds himself of course, the question of the main rock. The old local term 'Tholeyit ", which refers to BRITZ 1953 south of this rock of the mountain summit Weisel, today must lead to plenty of confusion. The type locality on Tholeyer Schaumberg has been studied by Jung in 1958 on mineral composition and chemical composition and the old had to be Tholeyit-term perspective. came after the intrusion of the storage aisle Schaumberg-shaped deposit it in a gravitational Kristallisationsdifferentiation: In effect, this means that could make a whole range of mineralogical and geochemical variations. could with the once as "Tholeyit / tholeiite" referred deposits - from today's point of view and today's terms - the rocks of andesite, basaltic andesite or Latit be meant in a broader sense, even a rock variation of olivine up to diorites. Thus, the old "Tholeyit" to a currently very vague, notion has become, with no more can be done - with a term from an earlier time, other research background.

Geotourism - potential and perspectives

for a "Kooperationstag" LEADER of two regions, the Rhineland-Palatinate Palatine Highland County and the St. Wendel country was on 28 October in the town of Freisen invited. In the context of lectures and a workshop used the 40 present action and the decision makers Forum for lively exchange on cross-border potential of a geo-tourism development. The workshop was organized by Achim later by the ARGUS concept transferred from Saarbrücken.

as external experts were Reinhard Diehl, director of the Geo-Bergstrasse-Odenwald Nature Park, and Michael Hahl concept as Geotourism expert project-related staff of the ARGUS involved. The papers and the subsequent exchange of approaching the topic from different angles Geotourism and made different development possibilities clear. Key questions also arose from the consideration of whether a tourism economic development of Geoparks Geopotentials with or without certification would imagine, and how large a cross-border redevelopment is possible. - A focus then, as he is likely to make in all areas that deal with a specific theme tourist valorisation.

The presentation of the geographer Michael Hahl (Image: ARGUS concept) by the project office approached proreg to the topic with the key message that the provision of Geopotentials could contribute significantly to the experience value of the countryside, the tourist capital of the Highlands. It was then narrowed the term Geotourism by the themes focus Earth and environmental history and the interactions of flora, fauna and cultural landscape history was identified and linked to capture and communicate with the aspects of Geopotentials resource protection and regional economy. Geo-tourism media, target groups and the connection with similar outdoor concepts, such as walking and cycling were further focus of the talk and finally, the question "with or without a certificate" discussed and some examples within and outside a Geopark area scenery. structure

To make the selection of geo-tourism offers a typing approach was taken by Andreas Megerle dividing the diversity of geological heritage in three types of Geopotentials viable and that each specific prospects for a suitable Landscape marketing associates. Hahl added this typing with regional examples, pointing out that when valuing a geo-tourism, not least, must go around an attractive and communicable model determination. For this sub-region of the Saar-Nahe Basin suggested the Impulvortrag particular the issues of "post-mining landscape" and "find the center of agates" in front, geo-tourism aspects, therefore, are in Freisen already picked out to date and developed markets such as the projected Achatweg Hellerberg.

was finally taken up the subject Geotorismus in mining areas and examples from other rural regions illuminated in such a theme renatured HeidelbergCement and reclaimed quarry Nußloch-Baiertal south of Heidelberg. That visitor activities such as "mining of minerals or fossils" for a geo-tourism development on the one hand, may be promising, on the other hand, reacted cautiously and must be applied appropriately to the ideas of sustainability and the claim of a sustainable resource protection needs to be, was given in the presentation and in the following discussion taken up again. Finally, pointing to Michael Hahl some concrete perspectives and possible issues for an inter-regional Geotourism Development in St. Wendel circuit and in the neighboring county Palatine Mountains could be adopted.

Achim concept introduced later by ARGUS, following new developments in geo-tourism product Freisen and moderated the other short presentations and discussions.

On Friday, 15 October, this year's Historians of the Neckar-Odenwald-Kreis place in Schwarzach, organized by Alexander Rantasa, head of the group archive. More than 140 interested visitors met in the Schwarzach hall and listened at first the greeting words of district administrator Dr. Achim Brötel and Mayor Theo Haaf, before the two lectures by Dr. Rüdiger Lenz ("castle and life - castle types and castle life") and Michael Hahl ("America emigration from the Odenwald, or: The end of the village and Ferdinand Rineck") for two hours, the hunger for knowledge of the attending local historian nurtured.

Following the two presentations led the city archivist Eberbacher Rüdiger Lenz, participants have to built around 1321 Schwarzacher Wasserburg. After its reconstruction in the years around 1800, during which also was the mansion built, the plant was held in Baden. Even today it is used as a state forester's house.

The castle on the "tuff"

Hidden Treasure in the Neckar valley

During a television documentary from the series' driving go there ", which is on Tuesday 19 October, 22.00 bis 22.30 clock, the numerous castles dedicates the Neckar valley, while the "castle Dauchstein" expected "Binau, engages proregnews out a special feature of this medieval castle tower - no historical, but an unusual geological attraction: the sintered lime, also called" tuff called "the castle which once gave its name, perhaps even its purported location on a steep slope of the river valley.

non-striking as Margrave Castle Zwingenberg inconspicuous than the Neckarsteinach castles or castle Zwingenberg, and certainly not as romantic as the transfigured Heidelberg Castle: At the bottom Binau The Neckar Valley Castle Dauchstein of steep, sandstone towers flanks. Get is still the residential tower as a testament to early Burgbauhistorie, lovingly restored by couple of Jawurek Neudenau.

Man discovered the rugged tower today by chance. As a relic of the medieval era castle, he stands defiant behind dense vegetation hillside opposite a very different, modern style created function construction: the now disused Obrigheim nuclear power plant. A readable contribution to the history Dauchstein-related way in wikipedia .

But the system is not only a historical highlight, but has its very own "Earth History" to tell. Below the castle lies like a Dauchstein rocky curtain a particular type of rock on the steep slope. Its yellowish-white coloration reveals that this is not the typical regional Buntsandstein is: In dense vegetation, you discover a porous "tufa", also known as travertine. Better yet, take the name of the sintered lime mode of origin of these rocks.

It is a "curtain" of limestone, which covers at this point the upcoming Sandstone: calcareous groundwater, which comes from the originally overlying limestone, works its way through the inner pore system of the red sandstone, seeps through, piling up layers of clay to swell finally on the steep slope out of crevices. At source the lime part of the groundwater to precipitate until a crust gradually grows from sintered lime.

on an old photograph, dating back to 1900, the tufa curtain below the castle is clearly visible. At that time the Binau side of the valley was still free of vegetation. Also likely to medieval times, the whitish rocks have been widely visible. Perhaps it was even as a symbol of the men at Castle Dauchstein? Today, the sintered lime under the thick trees and bushes of the Neckar valley slope part is hidden.

The old term "tufa" on the sometimes porous rock is due to the similarity to volcanic tuffites with which it has nothing to do but actually do nothing. Another option is to "Duck stone" - or even "Dauchstein. For example, the medieval castle at Binau get their name appears on the special geological conditions, from the rare Kalkgesteinsformation under its red sandstone walls.

to look more closely To travertine, you have to go now to a more adventurous descent through overgrown paths underneath the residential tower. In other words, for hikers and geo-tourism attraction is the natural space by strong growth and lack of backup paths is not currently available. Certainly it would be a great addition to the geological "Dauchstein" which Sinterkalkkruste below the castle, expose and again, as yet about the year 1900, making it accessible, so to use it to increase the experience value for the subject tourism. Travertine below the striking medieval tower block - a hidden treasure in the Neckar valley.

the way: the Dauchstein tells of a project office proreg edited "success GeoPunkt 'table of the Geo-Bergstrasse-Odenwald Nature Park, which you see at the upper entrance to the castle Dauchstein.

Getting Herpies Through A Handshake

Mallorca - Caves portal Vells

The caves can be reached by starting from Punta de s' Estaca (on the southeastern tip of the peninsula between Peguera and Palma ) from the bay of Portals Vells follows (beautiful beaches , some nudist ). By bus you can ride up to "Casino".

so completely without is the short hike on a summer day with 40 degrees in the shade not , sturdy shoes are recommended, but well worth the sight is - relatively few visitors find here in her the cave with the old altars. I was reading a travel guide , they were seafarers in 14/15. Century have been created . Elsewhere I read that altar was created for Mary as a goddess of the sea, the statue will now but kept elsewhere. Who knows ...

The mixture of Christian and other symbolism is exciting, the place has something.

river changing

Eberbach and the phenomenon Neckartal

By Michael Hahl

The South German river's history is an interplay of several components: raising and lowering of large areas, variations in catchment size, climate factors and the sea levels, ranging from volcanic fields and even meteorite impacts caused - much plays into it, when river systems tap into each other, and reverse its direction. Eberbach in the room are particularly diverse and get impressive tracks that can shed light on the development of a South German river: the River Neckar.

Photo: Hahl

ago, when about 30 million years, the height difference between the northern Upper Rhine and the Odenwald begins to form first westward draining rivers and streams. Due to the deep erosion base in the Rhine estuary, they gnaw in the depth and its sources gradually eat their way further into the mountains. The Sources of the "Ur-Neckar" enlarge the catchment area by headward erosion and "undermine" the European divide.

About 24 million years ago, in Miocene, the uplift processes are interrupted, valleys filled with sediments, leveled the relief. Episodically increasing water flooded now without forming valleys, as miles of wide flooding, leaving coarse gravel, such as demonstrated Kraichgau.

gradually formed again initially small height offset and headward erosion continues. The headwaters of the great-Neckar reached the area, "Eberbach", where a far older river system drained slowly south. We call this a southbound river as a "northern Ur-Lone" or "Neckar-Lone. The dynamic Neckar taps into the old river, still sensational testimony from Eberbach Neckar knee.

done in sections, now the flow reversal, to push ahead of the original south draining tributaries Elz, Jagst and cooker, which flow quickly into the Neckar. The elevation of the Alb and the Urach volcanic field-Kirchheimer and the Middle Miocene drop in sea level safely transferred to the flow reversal, the ruins of the Nordlinger Ries Impacts tributaries lead to the Neckar.

the latest with about five million years strong again entering height difference between the upper Rhine valley and Odenwald intensifies the valley formation. Initially formed flat, very wide channels, now documented by the pot flat wide terrace at the Eberbach scouring mountain, which in turn is from the younger river bed cut Kühruh relic of the parcel.

gnaw Later the Schollerer humpback meanders and valley bottoms of Ear Mountain and hunger continue to hump up growing into mountains. The river valley becomes narrower and deeper, until the steep valley sides of the Neckar finally get their present forms. - As a chronicle of the history of the Neckar valley floors are still in Eberbach different altitudes seen. They testify to a river in transition.

New Life in the Project Office

interview with an intern
Christina Kunze MA

In September 2010, the project office proreg grown. For some dedicated work hours, Christina Kunze MA involved actively in the well-filled agenda of my office. They supported me especially in the technical research currently being conducted on interactive media for visitor centers. - The Band I would like to introduce to the readers of proregnews my current employee once ...

mh:
Christina, have you studied German Philology and Political Sciences in Regensburg. While studying you have a lot completed internships, especially in the editorial department and as a lecturer in politics and the press. Even as deputy director of the interest association of the professions and medium-sized companies have you been active, and eventually you have worked for many years in full-time as a dramatic and public relations officer at the Stuttgart Theatre of Old Town. - This professional career reads really impressive. Geo-tourism and hiking, landscape marketing or environmental education, to name a few areas of expertise of my project office, which has now but not too much to do. How did you get the idea at proreg to ask for a short-term placement? What do you particularly interested in my professional activities?

ck:
Ever since my little daughter was born, we try to live confident, yes, you can almost speak of a change of heart. Suddenly you a lot of questions, questions himself. Above all, I took the parents time to get to focus on me and make something new, something which has always been there, I have not seen. Under the motto "you discover yourself" I came by coincidence the "Nature Education", for nature has always been an important part in my life I am also a committed member NABU and I think if one is enthusiastic about a thing, then you can pass on that too, even if I enter the "education" is new territory. Next I do a training for natural teacher and the subsequent certification to obtain a practical internship is provided - and this is the bow to you Michael, because I when I googled for an internship in the vicinity of Eberbach, I am on the Website of the National Park Centre Eberbach proreg encountered. I asked myself, Why, what's proreg , was kept informed on your website and finally a practical question daring.

"making the case for the region"

mh:
What interests you most of my professional activities?

ck:
Basically I'm fascinated by your work that you are a small part of you, indeed, somehow "immortalize" it was as the path of the river's history Eberbacher . I'm not talking like this to set a monument, but that you care about, the people behind the stove to lure-and in the landscape and its history, environmental education at its best. Above all, the courage to have become familiar in his region and of course the very fact that you people here show how beautiful their home is, you have to go through life with open eyes. Somehow I'm interested in everything that makes proreg , especially up Geotourism, environmental education, nature education. Well, proreg `s makes it possible to believe, given your range of topics, barely, that it is a" one-man company "...

" Is nature education sustainable? "

mh:
nature education has received in recent years a lot of momentum. Some talk somewhat critical of a "eventisation the landscape". What would your perspective - in 2010 and beyond - the main task of the nature of environmental education pedagogy, respectively?

ck:
Wow, what questions ... and the answer is an absolute greenhorn? To be honest, I have not done it no thought. "Events" but it sounds terrible, especially since it does not take much to experience nature and themselves to learn in nature ... The nature education, it is above all about the relationship between man and nature, and which concerns, in light global warming; of species extinction, etc. are more important? It is above all a matter of conscious life is to live sustainably, and the best all collected without your index finger. Pestalozzi speaks of an "ethical compass" which lies dormant in all of us are only just woken up - and that is the object of nature education, which may be personality-forming nature through experience.

mh:
Where do you see opportunities? Where do you see weaknesses and limitations of environmental education? Nature education is "sustainable"?

ck:
opportunities I see quite clearly in the nature of cooperation between teachers and schools, kindergartens, etc., than ever used to be the foundation for love and responsibility towards nature can be down, the better. We can improve the world, unfortunately not, that's a limit to the environmental education, but we can at least make a little bit better or at least try. Education is of course also part of nature education and environmental education, because only when you recognize the complexity of our ecosystem and understand that everything is a closed system and every activity has an impact on us all, we can create an awareness, an awareness of the whole! Nature education could be a step to be at peace with itself and at least in its environment to live in a sustainable - And this is probably more viable for the future!

"What do theater and
staging tourism
experiences in common?"

mh:
seven years you have worked in a theater. With tourism and theater landscape has not really done something, right? Clearly, public relations is needed in both areas, the regional marketing as well as in the theater marketing. But the activities and objectives are still completely different, or maybe not? What do you think has the production on the theater stage with a production of tourist experiences to do? If theater and tourism may not so far apart?

ck:
Interesting question, really. The whole world is a stage and everybody plays his role, a better, others worse. Some pieces are very well staged and want to leave some left over. - Theater and tourism, have at least the "Initial D" together, but I remember even more, because both carry their audience into another world, and both can only succeed if something comes back, that is, the dialogue between actors and audience exists and Although during the show and then ... But it is true, when I think about it right there are really many parallels. Both can be held indoors and outdoors and is both (sometimes unfortunately) more and more of the "event character" in the foreground, experience as much as possible and as quickly as possible. It is much nicer to pause, especially in light of the hectic, short-lived time to decelerate. For example, it is wonderful to visit the forest's favorite place to sit down and listen. Just sit, do nothing and especially not even reach!

mh:
Christina, what you want from the short internship at proreg for your future career like to take? Crucial question: What are your plans for the future?

ck:
It may sound a bit cheeky, but honestly, I would on a regular cooperation with proreg , after the internship, very convenient ...

mh:
Thank you for your time and - to working with you!

Whats The Best Tire For A Sata Fe

Duuuurschd! Who Nooooch?

On 28 August attended a part of our rural youth group Insheim the wine festival. So that each could really enjoy his pint, had organized the board in the run a bus to take us from the train station to Mußbacher Insheim and again in the night "almost" brought back unharmed. Together some nice and moist happy hours were spent in Insheim. A special highlight was a performance by the band "Liquid" and the VIP bar and other "mystical" courtyard serving. A beautiful, shared the evening, in the opinion of all participants, will be repeated next year, absolutely. What's hot Insheim Wine Festival, this much is clear.
